Mutators
Modifications to a game are called mods or mutators. These mutators may make slight changes to very big changes in the game. For UTdemo we pointed out that there are six main classes in which we can catagorize these mutators. The following sections allow you to browse the mutators currently in the Download Database.
Weapons
A game without weapons is like a party without music. All weapons have treir difficulties. They all have their weak and strong points. Rapidly firing rockets can't win in close combat, but telefragguns could be your way to escape. Out of ammo? Yeah, that is a problem. So we included an "Always Enough Ammonition" mutator, to solve the problem. Every model has it's own skin, It's own voice, and it's own weapon. What is your favorite weapon?
Protection
There are different types of mutators. Shielding and protection are mutators too. For this reason, we came up with a new class, protection. There are many forms. Regeneration, bubble shields, beers, joints (however, they should actually take healthpower away, smoking is bad) and many more medpacks. The only thing that we did not want to add because it is good for men, is sex. What would dear mother say when she sees what kind of games little Benny plays? (Erotic content *might* still be hidden in some packs anyway.)
Pickups
There are a lot of things that make you act crazy. Alcohol makes you sing, smoking makes you stinky, and other pickups make you fly. Wait, what? A lot of pickups like flashlights and nightvision googles allow cool game experience.
Vehicles
When we started with jets, we were proud on our own buggie, basic-jets. We got people complaining about controls, firing and use. So we decided to create a better "bug-free" version. That version became a succes, but it still had bugs. And controls still were not user-friendly. Therefore, we made another "bug-free" version. Complaints: Too big for slow connections. So another other version was born, and another, and another "another", all with their own strong and weak points.
Monsterhunt
You might have seen it in the Full Version. But we now have them for demo: Monsters! TallyHo-monsterhunt is one of the sequence of MonsterHunt for demo. The first versions were large and slow. Big monsters, small monsters, flying around, crouching, and easy to defeat. With your HUD you was able to find monsters and other players. With the newer versions, some "little changes" made the servers some more attractive. Fast downloads, better bots, and, maybe the best: Monsters kill now. Black Cheetah is now working on newer versions with only flying creatures, and specific types of monsters like aliens, animals and more like that.
Others
This is the biggest group of mutators. Many mutators, many additions to other mutators and more other things that even none of us can identify. What about the MadMansDream, Where dead bodies stay in the game. Or what about the Phobos Teleporter Pack? From the Phobos Level you always see the moon moving around, but what if you could visit the moon? Now you can. It is huge. Anyway, there will be at least one mutator that might interest you.
